Peel Health Campus has two finalists in Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards
PEEL Health Campus has two finalists in the 2016 Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards.
The Community Board of Advice chairman Don Pember said it was a tremendous achievement for Jemma Freegard, Donna Cook and the hospital.
“This is wonderful news and the local community is very proud of them,” he said.
Clinical Midwifery manager Ms Freegard is a finalist under the Excellence in Leadership category.
McGrath Foundation breast care nurse Ms Cook is a finalist under the Primary, Public and Community Care category.
“It’s comforting for the community to know that the midwifery manager of the local maternity unit is an individual of such high calibre,” Mr Pember said.
“Our new mums and babies are in great hands.”
Mr Pember said Ms Cook provided expert care for breast cancer patients in the Peel Region.
The winners will be announced at a gala dinner on May 7 at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
