Media Release: Innovative community care provider, Just Better Care Brisbane North is bringing together an influential line-up of disruptive thinkers and successful entrepreneurs for its inaugural Entrepreneurial Business in the Community conference, in Brisbane on 23 September. This one-day event is a rare opportunity for Brisbane’s not-for-profit and enterprising business leaders to develop collaborative, community-minded partnerships and learn how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to emerging market challenges.

Brisbane business owner, Susanne Jones, Just Better Care Brisbane North explained, “In Australia, our aged and community care sector is undergoing major transformative change in the form of Consumer Directed Care and the National Disability Insurance Scheme. To meet the demands of the ageing population in the new funding and policy landscape, community organisations will need to adopt startup-style solutions and collaborative partnerships to match the exponential scale and scope of customers’ need.”

The new Consumer Directed Care (CDC) reform will take effect in February 2017, and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) will become available in the Brisbane area from 1 July 2018. Community care organisations will need to partner with more agile, customer-centric providers as well as small businesses offering complementary products and services if they are to respond quickly in the new consumer-driven marketplace.

The conference is an exclusive opportunity for business leaders and decision makers in community and aged care – both private and not-for-profit – to learn from highly successful CEOs and influencers. Armed with this knowledge and an entrepreneurial mindset, attendees will be inspired to build collaborative and complementary partnerships across the sector.

“Just Better Care Brisbane North is excited to host this conference, designed specifically for the community and aged care industry, and to offer attendees radically different thinking, insights and experiences from internationally-successful entrepreneurs,” Jones added.

Influential business leader Mark Bouris AM will provide the keynote presentation, alongside a line-up of highly successful commercial, social enterprise and not for profit CEOs.
