Retirement village operators take note: Gabriel Health pilots new social isolation technology in 30,
The Victorian Govt is supporting over 30,000 Victorians in the VIC-based health technology company’s program which is designed to help older people to stay independent at home for longer.
With ‘isolation’ being one of the great ‘push’ factors for people joining a village, this technology presents a welcomed competitor.
Participants will receive a custom-developed Unity tablet connected to the Gabriel communications platform. Clicking on a photo of a family member will instantly create a video link through to that person and vice versa.
The platform will also use video software, motion detectors, voice recognition and artificial intelligence to alert family to any need for help or intervention.
