More residential homes being built with lifts

More and more people are building homes with lifts or retrospectively putting in lifts. People are staying longer in their homes before moving and an increasing number of people want to be able to retire in their existing home. To achieve this new homes are taking design ideas from the retirement village and disability sectors, wider doorways and hall ways, lifts, disability/frail access for showers, toilets and kitchen. One of the big issues is stairs and smaller blocks of land with large homes on them, this is where lifts come into play. Centering around these design concepts are wheel chair access and no steps, for split level and multi store homes this is where lifts are playing an increasing roll.

When taking into account the cost of moving house, agents fee, stamp duty, removalist just to name some of the big costs, the cost of a lif between $40,000.00 to $150,000.00, a lift can be in a lot of cases cheaper to install than moving.
