Encourage staff to register a MyGov Account

All organisations who are going to be using Single Touch Payroll this financial year should encourage all of their staff to register a MyGov account with the ATO. Single Touch Payroll is mandatory for all organisations with 20 or more staff from 1/7/2018 and for organisation with less than 20 staff from 1/7/2019. Organisations will need updated or new payroll software installed to complete STP transmissions, installations, configuration and training take time, I recommend organisations should start using Single Touch Payroll from April/May 2018 at the latest to beat the last minute rush.

Once organisations start using Single Touch Payroll employees will only be able to obtain their Payment Summaries from their MyGov account.
