Older Australians continue to save and want to age at home

agedcareguide.com.au: A research paper on housing decisions of older Australians has revealed that most people prefer to stay in their family home, with about 800,000 older Australians receiving home care.

PHOTO: Research shows that many older people consider that owning a home provides security and independence in retirement.

 

Many older people consider that owning a home provides security and independence in retirement and many of them, including some of the poorest retirees continue to save, even very late in life, as a precaution for increased health and aged care costs and a strong aversion to debt.
