Updates to Modern Awards for Casuals
Casual loading in the Aged Care and Community Modern Awards is due to change soon. On weekends and public holidays currently casuals get the weekend/public holiday penalty and not the 25% casual loading. When the change comes through in early next financial year, casuals will get be both the casual loading and weekend/public holiday penalty.
Wait until the changes officially come through from Fair Work Australia as the fine details need to be confirmed and as well as the start date.
