New Charter of Rights for Aged Care Recipients
The new single charter of rights has been released for federally funded aged care clients, of note: 1. The start date is 1/7/2019 2. All new clients must get an individually signed copy from 1/7/2019 3. Clients must have the opportunity to also sign the document 4. Existing Residential and Short term Restorative Clients must be given a copy by 30/9/2019 5. The Federal Government's increased Aged Care funding starts today. Although the government explanations talk about it as one off funding, this is spread over 18 months in the normal monthly subsidy payments while the Royal Commission runs and the new funding arrangements are finalised to replace ACFI. HCP Home Care providers Publish your fees or be penalised
Consumer Directed Care Home Care (CDC) providers also known as Home Care Packages (HCP) providers have been warned to publish their fees on MyAgedCare portal as required or be penalised. Apparently up to 30% of organisations providing HCP home care haven't complied with this legal requirement.
