$150,000 in Grants Open to Celebrate Queenslanders with Disability

The Palaszczuk Government has today announced $150,000 in Disability Community Event Grants to promote inclusion of Queenslanders with disability in 2016.

Disability Services Minister Coralee O’Rourke said grants up to $5000 were available for community groups, schools, sports clubs and other non-government organisations, to run activities and events during Disability Action Week and on International Day of People with Disability.

Disability Community Event Grants are available for events that promote the rights and wellbeing of people with disability, strengthen how they access and are included in their community, and encourage mainstream services to connect and engage with people with disability.

“Disability Action Week and International Day of People with Disability provide Queenslanders with an opportunity to recognise the vast and rich contributions of people with disability in the community,” Mrs O’Rourke said.
