Understanding & Surviving The Home Care Package Reforms CHSP

Are you ready for the changes to the Home Care Package and CHSP programmes?

A MUST attend workshop with Lorraine!

Thursday 19th May, Brisbane.

During these times of change in the human service sectors, it is important for us to stay calm and focus on what we can change and accept what we cannot. In response to these significant changes, Lorraine Poulos and Associates are holding a workshop/seminar on the 19th May in Brisbane. Our Sydney workshops in April have sold out so take this opportunity to get in quickly to avoid missing out. As usual, there will be lots of practical advice and resources provided. The aged care reforms are now well underway. The Australian Government announced significant reforms to home care in the 2015-16 Budget. The recent legislative changes in Home Care (Stage 1 ) were announced early February. The Increasing Choice in Home Care – Stage 1 – Legislative changes to the Bill were tabled in Parliament and include significant changes for providers and consumers. In the first stage (commencing February 2017), funding for a home care package will follow the consumer. This will enable a consumer to choose a provider that is suited to them and to direct the funding to that provider. The consumer will also be able to change their provider if they wish, including if they move to another area to live. In addition, all applicable charges will be published on My Aged Care. This moves us to a market-driven service model and one that is starting to have an impact on providers across the country. Providers also will have to return any unspent funds to the Australian Government when a consumer leaves their service. At present those unspent funds remain with the provider and are used to support infrastructure and other innovations.
