Qld govt offers $20m dementia care boost

The Queensland government is giving a $20 million funding boost to community-based groups to provide respite care for people living with dementia and other neurodegenerative conditions.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says seven organisations providing services from Toowoomba to Mareeba will receive the funding over three years.

"Respite care ... offers the carer a well-deserved break from their caring responsibilities while providing valuable and meaningful activities for the person receiving care," Ms Palaszczuk said on Sunday.
